Trust in the Lord

Wow! This week in Monsefu went by so fast! Also this week I completed 6 months in the mission, it is crazy to think that for Christmas next year I will be at home with all of you! I love you all lots, but this work brings so much joy I just might stay another few years! (Don’t worry Mom the mission president won’t let me)
Anyway, this week I learned a whole lot about Trust. Missionary work is centered in Trust. As missionaries we Trust in the Lord to guide us in all of our actions and words. We trust that He has sent us to specific places to find His children who are prepared to listen to His word. We Trust him to strengthen us, comfort us, and forgive us of our faults. Also as missionaries we have the responsibility to be representatives of Jesus Christ, and as such many people Trust in us. So many people shared with us this week of their joys, struggles, disappointments, and hopes. AS I listened to story after story, the happy times and the difficulties I could truly feel the trust that these precious children of God had for their Father in Heaven.
One Hermana shared the heart wrenching story of her life when she was a young single mother. After her husband was brutally murdered she was left pregnant and with two young children. She expressed to us the desperation that she felt in those years. During those times she had no idea where to turn, but one especially difficult night there was a knock on the door. Two Christian missionaries were there to share with her about God. Their message was a glimmer of hope for her in those dark times and she clung to the message of a Loving God. She put her trust in Him, and she acted in Faith. In the years that followed she told us how she continued to Trust in God, and He guided her footsteps every day.
In another lesson the father of a beautiful family expressed his fears to take the leap of faith and be baptized. After he shared his fears, we shared with him the truth about Faith. That when we act in faith it means that we do NOT know what lay ahead of us in the path of life. Faith means closing our eyes, taking the hand of the Lord and putting one foot in front of the other.

I know that if we put our faith in the Lord, He will guide us. We must act in faith. Have faith in the Lord, Trust Him!

I love you all!

Con Amor,
Hermana Kimball
